Alexander Baun grew up in Germany, where he was introduced early on to the construction industry through his family’s business. Working alongside skilled craftsmen, he learned the fundamentals of surface preparation, material quality, and the importance of precision in finishing work. During this time, he first encountered Venetian plaster, a technique that immediately stood out to him for its durability, versatility, and clean, refined appearance.
Early Career
In 2004, Alex moved to the United States and established his own company. While he initially worked with many different finishing techniques, he consistently found himself returning to Venetian plaster. Over time, he chose to specialize in this method because it allowed him to combine hands-on craftsmanship with a clear, structured process. The technique’s balance of technical detail and subtle visual impact aligned well with his working style and professional standards.
